Travel Extravaganza

Two days ago/Yesterday/today was our massive day of travel! That's right folks it is now noon on Wednesday in New Zealand. At 9:57 am we took off from Syracuse Airport and flew 237 miles down to Newark, New Jersey. We then had a short layover before our connecting flight to Los Angeles, California. We left Newark at 1:42 pm and flew 2,766 miles to LA. It took us about 6 hours, and we landed at 3:50 pm local time. Then we really began to feel the jet lag with a 12 hour flight of 6,508 miles to Auckland, New Zealand where we began our vacation! Yay! In case anyone was wondering how long it takes to get here, starting when we left Syracuse, it took a total of 27 hours. Yikes!

Most Exciting moments:
1. Eric realizing at check in at Syracuse he was missing his driver's license, which thankfully he didn't need.
2. Experiementing with the digestion of airline food. We had the pleasure of being served lunch, dinner, and breakfast on a plane.
3. Seeing the US countryside out our plane window - check out the picture below.
4. Surviving the red eye flight...barely.

Plans for today~ Checking out downtown Auckland including the War Memorial Museum, and having dinner on the skytower. Pics to come later...you might not hear from us for a couple days.

Question for students:
~How many total miles did we travel?

I find myself in the morning coming right down to see what you have done. Thanks again for sharing and Eric the license thing is something my spouse would have done too! Praying for you.
